Not the greatest weekend at Pukekohe but now I am looking forward and learning from where we went wrong. We were on pace with Ryan Hellier on Friday afternoon and able to draft really well and I was happy and confident we could have a good result.
I qualified 4th on Saturday morning on a dry track which wasn’t too bad but we really wanted to be on the front row being Pukekohe. My race starts were not the greatest this weekend and so mething I will need to work on going into the next round.
I battled with Bramwell King for 3rd in the first race however he drafted me to the line by 0.07 of a second giving me 4th place. I only set the 5th fastest time in the race too which meant I dropped another spot on the grid for race 2 which made my day even harder.
I finished race 2 in 6th after a battle with Arran and Brody where we swapped places a lot of times each lap.
I was desperate to stay with the front two so in race 3 I tried to go on the outside of Chris on lap 1 into Castrol and he had Arran on the inside of him so I ended up on the kerb spun around.
A very disappointing way to finish the weekend at my home track but now I need to focus on the next round and the championship where I am now in 5th place.
Congratulations to Ryan for coming in and winning a round without racing any previous rounds, very impressive. Also congratulations to team Sabre (Alistair , Pete , Jonathan and Dennis) on putting two cars back together on Friday night after such big damage.
